After scoring a long-awaited Test century during the match against Afghanistan, Haque discussed his confidence for upcoming Tests, his techniques for mental preparation, the team’s preparation on challenging wickets, the rise of the pace-bowling unit, and the importance of maintaining the process in achieving good results.

When asked about his future as captain, Haque stated that he does not enjoy captaincy and believes it would be better for him to step down. He mentioned Shakib Al Hasan and Liton Das as potential leaders for the team, and also acknowledged the growth of new leaders such as Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mehedi Hasan Miraz.

Haque expressed his desire to play white-ball cricket and emphasized the importance of consistent performance in Tests to open doors for other formats. He also discussed the team’s chances in the Asia Cup and the upcoming World Cup, considering it a significant opportunity for Bangladesh with experienced senior players and a strong bowling lineup.
