Shakib finally withdrew himself from the contract in such a stubborn position as the Tiger all-rounder-BCB that he would be dropped from the national team if the contract was not canceled.

Monarch Holdings Limited started its journey in January this year after becoming a goodwill ambassador of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC). The company’s chairman Shakib and managing director Kazi Sadia Hasan, wife of Abul Khair Hiru, were involved in the stock market scandal.

In the company form signed on December 15, 2021, it is seen that Shakib’s father’s name has been given as Kazi Abdul Latif instead of Khandaker Masroor Reza. This has once again raised many questions. However, Abul Khair Hiru has clarified the matter. He said the directorate of joint capital companies and firms (RGSC) made the mistake.

He returned to the team as captain. Shakib is the captain of the upcoming Asia Cup, the T20 tri-nation tournament in New Zealand, and then the T20 World Cup. I mean, he is now the captain of both Test and T20 teams. The reason for such a reward is that Shakib has severed ties with the gambling company Bet winner.

Despite this, the question is why Shakib went to sign the contract of such a betting organization without the permission of BCB. Does it make sense for an international star to do that? It is learned that Shakib had signed the contract by mistaking it. He considered it to be a news portal (betting-related organization Betwinner News) and contracted it.

BBC’s Cricket Operations Committee Chairman Jalal Yunus gave this information. “Shakib has claimed to us that he has been misunderstood about this deal, it seems to him that he may have been misguided. Since Shakib told us in front of the president that he mistakenly made the endorsement thinking it was online (news portal). The job wasn’t right. Meanwhile, Shakib has broken a clause of the BCB’s central contract by signing a contract with any organization without informing the BCB. Will Shakib be punished as such? Meanwhile, there has been confusion about Shakib Al Hasan, the confirmed star of the XI. Reliable sources say that BCB is indecisive about keeping Shakib in the squad due to the news of joining with betting company Bet winner. BCB president Nazmul Hasan Papon was adamant about the Shakib question for the past few days. He said, “I have already said – I will not accept it. I have a zero-tolerance stance on this. Now I will decide after talking to others.â€?/p>

Papon is sticking to the decision after a meeting on Thursday. The BCB boss warned that Shakib will not have anything to do with Bangladesh cricket, including the upcoming Asia Cup, if the contract with Betwinner News is not canceled. Speaking to the media at Dhanmondi in the capital on Thursday, Papon said, “Look, we have given him (Shakib) a letter. The time was set to reply to his letter yesterday. I heard that he will tell me today. Let me know earlier today, I will see and then I will decide about it. But I am saying this much, if it is related to anything related to betting, it will not have any relationship with Bangladesh Cricket Board, Bangladesh Cricket.â€?/p>

It is to be noted that Shakib has become a product ambassador with Betwinner News, a news-based website on sports related to Bet winner. BCB asked Shakib to cancel the contract after learning about the matter. But as of writing this report, Shakib has not informed BCB of any decision to change his position.
