Shakib now understands the importance of fast bowling

Shakib Al Hasan, Bangladesh captain- “This win is important for us. I have played in all T20 World Cup events, but could not win (in the second phase). It was on my mind. Today (Monday) we made our task difficult by losing wickets at regular intervals and knew that 155 was a very good score on this wicket, 10 runs short. The bowlers paid for it. The pace bowlers have done well.
We now understand the importance of pace bowling. We have got a great fast bowling group in all editions. Some great pacers have emerged. Hasan Mahmud is one of them. Taskin has been our best bowler for the last two-three years. He has the experience and pace to turn a match. Most of the fielders in our team are quick and active. If you can save 5-10 runs in the fielding, that can make the difference.�Taskin Ahmed, Man of the Match-

“We needed this win. We played well as a team. It feels even better to be able to contribute to the win myself. I tried to get the basics right and noticed the bowling of the Netherlands. It was a good move. That’s why I tried to bowl length in Test matches. I wanted to move the ball both ways with my best. That worked. My main goal in preparation for the World Cup was to move the ball both ways. Focusing on improvement, I want to be a world-class bowler.â€?/p>

This is Bangladesh’s first win in the second phase of the T20 World Cup.
Bangladesh had lost in the previous 16 matches in the second phase including Super Eight, Super Ten, and Super Twelve. Shakib and his team got the desired victory in the 17th match. This was Bangladesh’s first T20 match on Australian soil.

In all, this is Bangladesh’s eighth win in the T20 World Cup. Two of the eight wins were against the Netherlands. Apart from this, multiple wins are only against Oman

(4/25) Taskin Ahmed became the man of the match for the first time in international T20 with career-best bowling against the Netherlands with four wickets for 25 runs. He got four wickets for the first time in the T20. His previous best in this edition was two for 12 runs and 30.

Nazmul Hossain and Soumya Sarkar gave the opening pair of 43 runs yesterday. After 30 matches in the international T20, Bangladesh got the opening pair of 40 runs 42.

Shakib Al Hasan further enriched the record for the highest wicket in the T20 World Cup by taking one wicket for 32 runs against the Netherlands. The Bangladesh captain has taken 42 wickets in 32 matches in eight seasons. Second highest 39 wickets of former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi.
