Shaheen Afridi returned to the Pakistan team

Pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi is returning to Pakistan national team jersey after four months. He got a place in the announced squad for the New Zealand series. Besides, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, who are on leave, are returning to the team after the Afghanistan series. Pakistan announced the team for the upcoming five T20 and five ODI series on Tuesday (March 4). The series against New Zealand will begin on April 14. And it will end on May 7.16 cricketers have been kept in the T20 and ODI squads. Besides, three more players have been kept as reserves. Afridi suffered a knee injury in the first match of the Test series against Sri Lanka in July 2022. Later, this Pakistani pacer returned to the team in the T20 World Cup held in Australia in October. However, Afridi injured his knee again in the World Cup final. He has to leave the field in the middle of the ball. After recovering, Afridi played in PSL this year. He also led Lahore Qalandars to the title.
