Pakistan’s embarrassing loss to New Zealand

Pakistan lost the ‘Bangla Wash’ tri-nation T20 series match against hosts New Zealand. Babar Azam’s team lost to the Kiwis by 9 wickets in Christchurch. New Zealand reached the target of 131 runs given by Pakistan with 23 balls in hand.
Kiwi openers Finn Allen and Devon Conway added 117 runs in the run chase.

Allen returned to the dressing room with an innings of 62 runs in 42 balls. His innings included 6 sixes and 1 four. Devon Conway remained unbeaten on 49 off 46 balls.

Earlier, after winning the toss and batting, no Pakistani batsman could score big in the controlled bowling of the Kiwi bowlers. They managed to score 130 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. Iftikhar Ahmed played the highest innings of 27 runs. Asif Ali was unbeaten on 25 off 20 balls. Apart from this, Babar Azam scored 21, Mohammad Rizwan 16, and Shan Masood scored 14 runs. Pakistan could not hit a single six in the innings.

Tim Southee, Mitchell Santner, and Michael Bracewell took two wickets each for New Zealand. Ish Sodhi took one wicket.
