New Zealand lost in Guptill’s record match

Indian captain Rohit Sharma and New Zealand opener Martin Guptill have been at loggerheads for some time now for the highest run-scorer in T20Is.

Guptill returned with 15 off 13 balls in the third and final T20I of the series against the West Indies in Kingston on Sunday. And on the way to this run, Guptill surpassed Rohit Sharma to make the record for the highest score in international T20.

Martin Guptill is at the top with 3,497 runs in 121 matches with the help of two centuries and 20 fifties. Rohit Sharma, who is in the second position, scored 3,487 runs in 132 matches with the help of 27 fifties in four centuries.

Former India captain Virat Kohli is in the third position with 3,308 runs with the help of 30 fifties in 99 matches.

New Zealand scored 145 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in Guptill’s record-breaking match on Sunday. Chasing the target, the host West Indies won by 8 wickets with 6 balls in hand. With this win, the hosts sat 2-1 percent in the three-match series. New Zealand won the first two matches and confirmed the series.
