Bangladesh all-rounders Mehedi Hasan Miraz and Taijul Islam have improved their latest Test rankings by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

The ICC released the weekly rankings of cricketers on Wednesday. Miraz and Taijul have advanced to the list of ICC’s top bowlers. These two spinners of Bangladesh have gone one step ahead. Miraz has come from 26 to 25. And Taijul has risen from 25 to 24. Shakib Al Hasan is at number 28.

There has been no change in the top three in the all-rounder rankings. Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin are number one and two respectively. The two Indian spinning all-rounders are doing well in the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy. Shakib is in third place.

James Anderson is now the top bowler ahead of Pat Cummins. He bowled brilliantly in the first Test against New Zealand at Mount Maunganui at the Bay Oval, which ended a few days ago. He took 7 wickets at an average of 7.71 in the Mount Maunganui Test.

Anderson has set a record by rising to the top. At the age of 40 years and 207 days, the English pacer has become the top bowler in white clothes.

Anderson’s previous record was in 1936. In 1936, Australian leg-spinner Clarrie Grimmett became the top bowler in Tests at the age of 44 years and 2 months. Anderson also set a record by teaming up with Stuart Broad. The Anderson-Broad pair played 133 Tests and took 1009 wickets. Glenn McGrath and Shane Warne have taken 1,001 wickets in 104 Tests.
