India won their first U-19 Women’s World Cup title

India is the champion of the first edition of the Under-19 Women’s World Cup. In the final, Shefali defeated England by 7 wickets to win the title.
England and India will face off in the final in Potchefstroom, South Africa on Sunday. Earlier in the day, England was bowled out for 68 runs in 17.1 overs by the bowling of Titas Sadhu, Archana Devi, and Parshavi Chopra.
Chasing the target, India won by 7 wickets with 36 balls in hand.
England captain Grace Scrivens was named the player of the tournament for his all-around performance throughout the tournament. The spin bowling all-rounder got 9 wickets with the ball in addition to the second-highest 292 runs of the tournament.
India opener Shweta Sehrawat has scored the highest 297 runs at an average of 99 in seven matches in the tournament. He made three fifties. The highest innings was 92 not out.
Australia’s 15-year-old fast bowler Maggie Clarke has taken the most wickets in bowling. He took 12 wickets in five matches. His best bowling figures are 3 for 15 against England in the semi-finals.
