Chasing the modest target of 100 runs, India reached the target in just 11.2 overs. The team’s vice-captain Smriti played an unbeaten devastating innings of 63 runs off 42 balls. With this win, India topped Group ‘A’ in Commonwealth Games women’s cricket, with 2 points. Barbados and Australia are second and third in the group, respectively, with the same number of points but lagging in run rate. And Pakistan is at the bottom of the group with two consecutive losses.

India will play against Australia, Pakistan, and Barbados in their final group stage match on August 3.
