After the recently concluded Test series against India, BCB director Jalal Yunus said that they are looking for a separate coach for the Test. A day later, BCB president Nazmul Hasan Papon also hinted at a reshuffle in the national team’s coaching staff.

Russell Domingo must have heard these words. Knowing that his future is dark, the South African coach of the Tigers himself stepped down from the responsibility.

Domingo’s resignation was confirmed by Cricket Operations Committee chairman Jalal Yunus.

BCB was looking for a coach inside while Domingo was there. Several coaches were also secretly contacted. I’ve talked to a few people. There are 3 names on that list. One of them is former Bangladesh coach Sri Lankan Chandika Hathurusingha. The other two are Lance Klusener of South Africa and Mike Hussey of Australia.

However, Hathurusingha is far ahead of Australian Mike Hussey and South African Lance Klusener in the race to coach the Tigers.

According to reliable sources, talks with Hathurusingha have come a long way. Hathuru has also informed the BCB about his demands. Hathuru has asked for salary allowances and related facilities much more than before. However, BCB is interested in him.
