Double bad news for the Zimbabwe team

Zimbabwe was in a good mood after qualifying for the T20 World Cup in the main round. Earlier, the team was preparing to play three T20 and ODI matches against Bangladesh at home. Bangladesh team is also now staying in Harare, Zimbabwe to play series two.

In the meantime, a pair of bad news came to the Zimbabwean camp. Tendai Chatara and Blessing Muzarabani, the two main bowling arms of the team, are injured. The team has to go without them in the upcoming home series against Bangladesh. But Zimbabwe won the last T20 against Bangladesh thanks to the bowling skills of Chatara and Muzarabani.

It is known that Chatara suffered a collarbone injury after playing two matches in the World Cup qualifiers at home recently. After that, he was dropped from the team. Muzarabani has the same misfortune. The pacer suffered a thigh injury after four matches of the qualifiers. After that, he lost his fitness to enter the field. As a result, he got 5 wickets in 4 matches and could not play in the World Cup qualifiers.

These two Zimbabwean pacers are unable to overcome injuries before the Bangladesh series. All-rounder Tony Munyonga and pacer Tanaka Chivanga have replaced them in the team for the entire series, who also played as a substitute for Chatara and Muzarabani in the World Cup Qualifiers.

Bangladesh will face Zimbabwe in the first T20 tomorrow at Harare Sports Club. The next two matches will be played at the same venue on July 31 and August 2. All matches will start at 5 pm Bangladesh time.
