Despite India’s valiant efforts to extend the contest to the fifth day, their pursuit of a historic record chase fell short as they were ultimately dismissed for 234.

Scott Boland made crucial breakthroughs with two early wickets on the final day, with Nathan Lyon and Mitchell Starc also contributing to Australia’s bowling success.
